This friendly font was inspired by the hand lettering of Fred G. Cooper, whose work decorated the pages of Life magazine in the 1920s and '30s. I needed a font with an authentic period feel for the screen credits and intertitles of The Call of Cthulhu, and developed this font family for that purpose. The video clip at left shows the font in use in some excerpts from the movie. Because the film was translated into 24 languages, a comprehensive international character set became immediately necessary.
