Originally envisioned by director Christopher Johnson as a full-body puppet standing about 50 feet high, space (and other) limitations made that impossible. Only the head and hands were produced, although still at monumental scale. The eyes light up and move, and the mouth opens and closes, and there are over 150 yards of fabric used just for the hair: all operated by a puppeteer who supports the weight of the puppet on his shoulders.

There is a time-lapse movie of Hecate under construction. It's a 3MB file, so if you're on a dial-up connection it can take a few minutes to download. If you'd like to see it, click HERE.
